The combination of having a long weekend and it being Benn's birthday, means we are headed to Koosharem! It was a fun weekend and relaxing too. The kids did whatever they wanted, and I didn't have to worry too much about anything. Benn took his dirt bike and another little one we are housing for a friend. Carter loved riding the little 50 all around. He still doesn't get too crazy with it, so there is no need to worry about him taking a spill and braking a bone. Kamryn's favorite is when Benn takes her on the "hubba-bubbas." It's a trail where there are many bumps that make her tummy fill up with butterflies.
Mason had his bike with training wheels and enjoyed riding on the gravel roads with grandpa in tow. A couple of times I couldn't find Mason out playing and Grandpa was no where to be found as well. They were two peas in a pod that weekend. Grandpa seemed happy to be slave to Mason and his wishes all weekend long. Even before we left Vegas, Mason was talking about Amish, the horse. I think Mason loves Amish so much because he thinks the two of them are of the same breed. He didn't want to ride Amish, though. I guess he was intimidated when standing next to the old horse, but he wanted to feed him and pet him.
We did all the usual Koosharem stuff: roasted marshmallows out by the campfire, swung on grandpa's big swing, went to see all the animals at Sorenson's Ranch and took a drive up to Fish Lake. Grandpa, Benn and Carter went fishing and caught several fish, which Carter was pretty proud of. When it came time to gut the fish Carter stood back and was content to just watch. He gets that from me! Since it was Memorial Weekend we also visited the cemetery and found ancestry dating back three generations.
We also celebrated Benn's birthday with cake and ice-cream and a few presents. It was a fun weekend and it was nice to be out of the vegas heat and cool off for a couple days in that beautiful mountain country.
